I’LL GIVE YOU THE SUN by Jandy Nelson

Over the read-a-thon at the middle school, I read the book “I’ll give you the Sun,” by  Jandy Nelson. It is about two twins, Jude and Noah, who try to make their way through their teenage lives. The beginning of the story is Noah’s, and the end is Jude’s. When they were younger, they were inseparable. At that time, Noah was an introverted artist, and Jude was a bold, outgoing surfer. Then, an event caused  their roles to switch. They grew further and further away from each other until they were barely speaking. This is a book about growing up, about finding your passion, about coping with the past. It is for anyone who likes suspense, mystery, and action. It is full of heartbreaking as well as heartwarming circumstances. It is for anyone who feels like they do not fit in anywhere, and do not mean anything to anyone until they realize that “[they] were all heading for each other on a collision course no matter what. Maybe some people are just meant to be in the same story.”
